The Chicago White Sox have signed free-agent starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez to a one-year contract at $4.75 million. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic broke the news on Twitter on Thursday morning. Gonzalez pitched 2016 and most of 2017 with the Sox.
Gonzalez, 33, was traded by the Sox in late August to the Texas Rangers. After going 7-10 with a 4.31 ERA through 22 starts for the Sox, Gonzalez didn’t have much success with the Rangers. In just five starts, Gonzalez went 1-3 with a 6.45 ERA.

Although Gonzalez didn’t do well with Texas, he was able to provide some stability for the Sox over the past two seasons.
