We’ll let the White Sox do the talking on this one, but the club today inked first-rounder Garrett Crochet to a full-slot bonus of $4,547,500. Fourth-rounder Kade Mechals has already signed for $10,000, so the pool of money to pry second-rounder Jared Kelley from his commitment to the University of Texas is deep.
Here’s the White Sox release:
CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have signed left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet (CROW-shay), their first-round pick (11th overall) in the 2020 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft, to a minor-league contract with a $4,547,500 signing bonus.
