The Chicago White Sox signed their 2018 first round draft pick Nick Madrigal on Thursday afternoon. Madrigal was drafted with the fourth overall pick in this year’s MLB draft out of Oregon State University.
Madrigal signed for a slot value $6,411,000 bouns as announced by the White Sox on Thursday. The second baseman who also plays shortstop is coming off an NCAA College World Series championship with the Beavers. Oregon State defeated Arkansas in three games of the College World Series finals.
The Sox assigned Madrigal to the Arizona League where he made his professional debut on Thursday.
