White Sox send reliever prospect Zach Thompson from Triple-A to Double-A

The No. 24 prospect in the White Sox organization is going to back to Birmingham.

Zach Thompson, a relief pitcher who had a tremendous 2018 campaign, was sent down from Triple-A Charlotte to Double-A Birmingham, those teams announced Friday.

ROSTER MOVES: LHP Aaron Bummer has been activated off the Injured List & RHP Zach Thompson has been assigned to @BhamBarons.

Thompson had plenty of fans and observers guessing that he might be able to reach the major league bullpen by the end of the 2019 campaign after he turned in a 1.
