The White Sox optioned outfielder Charlie Tilson to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
Avisail Garcia and Nicky Delmonico are expected back from the disabled list soon, leaving no room for Tilson in the outfield. The Sox announced they will make a corresponding roster move before Friday’s game against the Mariners in Seattle.
Tilson, a New Trier product from Wilmette, batted .264 with 11 RBIs and seven runs scored in 41 games with the White Sox after being promoted from Charlotte on May 24.
