The near endless positivity for the White Sox's ever-expanding crop of young talent was dealt a chilling scare Monday night, when Yoan Moncada and Willy Garcia left the game after a full-speed collision.
The White Sox announced Moncada as being day-to-day with a right knee contusion, and said X-Rays on his leg came back negative. Garcia was described as having a head contusion that will require him to be re-evaluated on Tuesday.
Both were racing toward a Darwin Barney popup in short right field in the top of the sixth inning against the Blue Jays, and Moncada’s right knee struck the side of Garcia’s head as he tried to hop over the sliding outfielder.
