James Shields was solid in his first outing of 2017, allowing only two hits, one earned run and recording five strikeouts across 5.1 innings in the White Sox 11-2 win over the Detroit Tigers. The only blemish in that game was his five walks, something he's struggled with throughout his MLB career.
His next start will be Tuesday on the road against the reigning American League champion Cleveland Indians.
