The White Sox placed reliever Nate Jones on the disabled list Thursday with elbow neuritis and called up left-hander David Holmberg from Triple-A Charlotte.
Jones had Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in May of 2014 and did not return until August of 2015. He went 5-3 with a 2.29 ERA last year in 71 appearances and posted a 2.31 ERA in 11 outings this year.
Holmberg, 25, had a 1.76 ERA at Charlotte.
The Sox also moved Carlos Rodon to the 60-day DL, meaning he wont return until June at the earliest.
