White Sox reliever Nate Jones' heavy workload includes several hiccups

White Sox right-hander Nate Jones suffered his ninth blown save when he gave up a two-run homer to the Tigers' Jarrod Saltalamacchia on Monday night.

The nine blown saves are the most in baseball this season and the most for the Sox since bullpen coach Bobby Thigpen had nine in 1991.

In Jones' first full season since elbow surgery and since signing a three-year, $8 million contract in the offseason, the Sox have relied on him to take over the eighth-inning setup role before closer David Robertson. Jones leads the American League with 62 appearances, including 25 on zero rest.
