The Chicago White Sox reinstated pitchers Aaron Bummer and Carlos Rodon from the 45-day injured list Thursday and designated pitchers Steve Cishek and Ross Detwiler for assignment.
Bummer, one of the team’s top relievers, went on the injured list Aug. 8 with a left biceps strain. He was transferred to the 45-day injured list on Sept. 5.
Bummer is 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA, 12 strikeouts and three holds in seven appearances this season. He last appeared in a game Aug. 7 against Cleveland, when he threw 1u2154 scoreless innings.
Rodon, who last pitched Aug. 3 at Milwaukee, has been on the injured list since Aug.
