Sadly, the White Sox could not get a win against the AL East leaders.
Despite the 9-4 loss, there were plenty of positives for the White Sox as they entered the long Labor Day weekend series.
Lucas Giolito pitched one of his best games of the season. His final line in 6.1 innings pitched included only two hits and one earned run. He struck out eight batters and walked two. The last time he struck out that many batters was when he faced the Oakland A’s in late June. He has had a few two-hit games, but none with that many strikeouts.
