White Sox reach deals with Avisail Garcia, Zach Putnam

CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox reached one-year deals Friday with both outfielder Avisail Garcia and relief pitcher Zach Putnam, putting all of their arbitration-eligible players under contract.

The 24-year-old Garcia batted .257 with a .357 slugging percentage and 13 home runs in 2015 -- his first full major-league season after suffering a major shoulder injury early in 2014. He agreed to a $2.1 million contract for 2016.

The 28-year-old Putnam posted a 4.07 ERA over 48 2/3 innings in 2015, striking out 64 in 49 relief appearances. Now with his fourth major-league club, Putnam has posted a 3.
