White Sox re-sign Matt Albers for one-year, $2.25-million

The White Sox re-signed free agent RHP Matt Albers today to a one year deal. Although the Sox announced it as a one-year, $2.25-million contract, Albers will be getting $2 million for 2016 and a $3 million option for 2017 with a $250 thousand buyout.

Albers came to the Sox last season on a minor league deal with a spring training invite. In 30 games with the Sox, he put together a nice 1.21 ERA with a 3.48 FIP and 83 FIP- in 37u2153 innings pitched with 9 walks and 28 strikeouts.

Early in the season, Albers joined the Captains of Attitude in the brawl with the Kansas City Royals on April 23 last season.
