I’m a lifelong Sox fan. I’m no expert, but the Sox and all their phenoms will not be successful until: 1. Sox hitters learn how to stop swinging at every pitch that bounces in the dirt. And start swinging at that first pitch where they have a better chance of seeing a fastball. 2. Get rid of “Guru” Don Cooper who oversees a pitching staff that can’t throw the ball over the plate. They led the majors with 653 walks last year. If he can’t teach them how to throw strikes or help find ones that can, he’s got to go.
