The White Sox have provided an update on injured pitching prospect Dane Dunning, and fans will be relieved to see the word "surgery" located nowhere in that update.
According to the team — and reported by numerous folks out in Arizona, including the Sun-Times' Daryl Van Schouwen — Dunning will rest his sore forearm for the next week or week and a half before beginning a throwing program. This after visiting with the famed Dr. James Andrews in Florida.

The White Sox announced earlier this week that Dunning was dealing with forearm discomfort, a potentially troubling sign as he works his way back from the elbow injury that ended his 2018 campaign in late June.
