Michael Kopech sounded as though he has checked off another box on his to-do list before he’s deemed major-league-ready: mastery of secondary pitches.
“I hate to sound like I’m beyond ready, because that’s not what I’m trying to say at all — I do think there’s things I need to polish. Honestly, I feel like my changeup’s here,” the White Sox’s top pitching prospect said during a conference call Friday.
“I’ve been throwing it more and more. I had more swings and misses on it last month than I probably had in my entire career combined, so I’m comfortable with my secondary stuff right now.
