White Sox prospect Lucas Giolito shows his learning curve in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Now that the Charlotte Knights have gone 1-8 since I declared them completely unbeatable, I am recusing myself from any other future responsibilities or assignments where I have to project the win-loss records of Triple-A teams. The mysteries of minor league wins might just be beyond my comprehension.

In my final game in North Carolina, I watched Lucas Giolito take the loss in a 4-0 defeat to Pawtucket on Wednesday night.

Giolito is a complicated guy to watch at the moment. On the one hand, he struck out eight Pawtucket Red Sox, and seems to have some sort of personal vendetta against Boston prospects Sam Travis and Blake Swihart, as he struck each of them out twice.
