With an excellent month on the mound, Triple-A Charlotte right-hander Erik Johnson has forced his way back onto the White Sox radar.
Johnson was named the International League starter for the Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday in Omaha, Neb., after posting a 3-1 record and 1.03 ERA over 35 innings in five starts in June. He has compiled a 7-5 record and 2.86 ERA overall this season.
It has been a big development for Johnson, who fell off the map in 2014. He started that season with the Sox but was sent to Charlotte after making just five starts and never found a groove.
