White Sox power comes up agonizingly short in 3-2 loss to Angels

Austin Jackson hit Angels closer Huston Street's final pitch Thursday hard and high enough to induce celebratory cheers from many at U.S. Cellular Field before the ball dropped into Craig Gentry's on the warning track in left field.

Jackson's fly fell just short of a game-winning home run, ending another disappointing outing for the White Sox offense with a 3-2 loss to the Angels.

The Sox had five hits for the second straight game — two of them homers from Melky Cabrera and Todd Frazier — but that wasn't enough to keep John Danks from dropping to 0-3.
