The Chicago White Sox placed starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez on the 10-day injured list Monday with right shoulder soreness.
Lopez left Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Twins with two outs in the first inning because of tightness in the shoulder. He allowed four runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning.
“The pain didn’t let me full(y) concentrate in the game or every pitch,” Lopez said through an interpreter on Sunday. “It’s very difficult to pitch when you’re feeling something like that. I tried to battle through it.”
Left fielder Eloy Jimenez, who left Sunday’s game in the second inning with lightheadedness after crashing into the wall chasing Jake Cave’s first-inning grand slam, was not put on the injured list.
