The White Sox placed closer David Robertson on the paternity list Monday morning before the series opener against the Athletics in Oakland.
The Sox recalled right-handed reliever Gregory Infante from Triple-A Charlotte to take his place.
Robertson and his wife, Erin, had been awaiting the birth of their second child. He can stay on the paternity list for 1-3 days.
Robertson is 4-2 with a 3.00 ERA, 44 strikeouts and 12 saves in 13 opportunities over 27 appearances this season. He pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings Sunday against the Rangers at Guaranteed Rate Field, allowing two hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
