The Chicago White Sox’s injury-plagued, former first-round draft pick was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with left shoulder soreness.
Rodon, who was attempting a comeback after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2019, came out of Monday’s game in Milwaukee after two innings in his second start after a drop in velocity.
He was replaced on the roster by reliever Brady Lail, a career minor leaguer with one major-league appearance in eight seasons in the New York Yankees system.
Lail, an 18th-round draft pick in 2012, is 51-33 with a 3.97 ERA in 187 minor-league games, including 112 as a starter.
