A combination of moves on Friday will change the shape of the White Sox roster going forward and prep it for what now looks like a postseason stretch run.
First, the White Sox acquired outfield Jarrod Dyson from the Pittsburgh Pirates for some international bonus space, optioning Luis González to Schaumburg and designating Nicky Delmonico for assignment off of the Schaumburg roster.
Catch me if I’m wrong, but does this mark two straight years that a player who’s batted cleanup for the White Sox in a game was dumped off of the team later that year?

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have acquired outfielder Jarrod Dyson from Pittsburgh in exchange for international signing bonus pool money, designated outfielder Nicky Delmonico for assignment and optioned outfielder Luis González to the Schaumburg training facility.
