SEATTLE -- The Chicago White Sox activated outfielder Andrew Benintendi from the 10-day injured list ahead of Wednesday night game against the Seattle Mariners.
Benintendi, who had been sidelined by left Achilles tendinitis, entered the game as a pinch hitter in the 10th inning with two outs and the go-ahead runner on third base, but he struck out to end the threat. He stayed in the game to play left field in the bottom half of the inning. The Mariners won 2-1.
Benintendi, 29, made two rehab appearances with the organization's Arizona Complex League affiliate.
