White Sox notes: Petricka out, Kahnle up and Cooper misses Sale

Jake Petricka’s happy and healthy return to major league action lasted one scoreless appearance. After missing the last five months of the 2016 season with a torn labrum in his right hip, Petricka was placed on the 10-day disabled list Thursday with a strain in his right lat, which he reported after his outing Tuesday.

Pitching coach Don Cooper said Petricka felt something while pitching to Miguel Cabrera in his second inning of work on Tuesday, and his manager Rick Renteria said there is no timeline on his return, but he is not throwing until the soreness subsides.
