White Sox, not Cardinals, look rusty in twin-bill sweep: 'Today was a bad day'

The St. Louis Cardinals hadn’t played a game in more than two weeks.

Watching Saturday’s doubleheader on the South Side, though, you might have thought it was the White Sox who needed to shake off the rust following a long layoff.

“Today was a bad day,” White Sox outfielder Eloy Jiménez said, summing things up rather succinctly.

The visiting Cardinals took both games in the twin bill at Guaranteed Rate Field, seemingly having little trouble jumping right back into action after a COVID-19 outbreak had kept them off Major League Baseball’s schedule since July 29.
