When Chicago White Sox outfielder Willy Garcia went on the disabled list with a concussion on Aug. 1 , the team promoted left-handed hitter Nicky Delmonico to the majors. Delmonico who had an adventurous journey to the show, has taken advantage of his opportunity with the Sox thus far.
Through 17 games played, Delmonico is hitting .361/.451/.639 with five home runs and 11 RBIs for the White Sox. This includes two games in which he hit two home runs last week on the road. One of his two home run games featured an inside-the-park home run against the Texas Rangers on Friday.
