On Sunday morning the Chicago White Sox announced that Eloy Jimenez and Nate Jones had both been placed on the 10-day injured list. Jimenez was diagnosed with a high right ankle sprain while Jones was diagnosed with right elbow inflammation.
The injury news is unfortunate for each player. With the placement of both Jimenez and Jones to the injured list, the White Sox recalled left-handed relief pitcher Aaron Bummer and right-handed relief pitcher Thyago Vieira.
For Jimenez, his placement on the injured list comes after he sprained his right ankle when attempting to rob a home run on Friday night against the Detroit Tigers.
