The White Sox brought back one of their own as they named former shortstop Omar Vizquel as manager of Class-A Winston-Salem on Monday.
Vizquel, who played for the Sox from 2010-11, spent the previous four seasons as the first base, infield and baserunning coach for the Tigers. Vizquel, 50, also managed Venezuela during the 2017 World Baseball Classic
“We are excited for Omar to rejoin the White Sox organization as our Winston-Salem manager,” Chris Getz, White Sox Director of Player Development, said in a statement. “He has a wealth of experience and knowledge gained through an impressively lengthy baseball career.
