There are some changes coming to SoxFest. Chiefly, where it is.
The White Sox announced Friday that the annual fan convention will take place at McCormick Place next January, moving from its previous location at the Hilton Chicago. The event will be held on Jan. 24 and 25 of next year, an "expanded" two-day event instead of the three-day event it's been in the past.
In its announcement, the team said that the larger event space at McCormick Place (more than 100,000 square feet) will allow for more opportunities for fans to connect with the team's past, present and future players, adding that the 2020 edition — the 28th annual installment of SoxFest — "will feature more opportunities for autographs, photos, fan engagements and unique experiences.
