White Sox outfielder Nicky Delmonico had surgery last week to repair the labrum in his left shoulder and will miss the rest of the season.
Delmonico made 17 starts in left field for the Sox this season but was sent down to Triple-A Charlotte on May 20 when Eloy Jimenez was reinstated from the injured list. Charlotte placed Delmonico on the seven-day injured list May 23.
A part-time starter for the Sox in 2018, Delmonico began this season with the Knights and was called up in April when Jimenez went on bereavement leave after the death of his grandmother.
