The Knights used two big innings (one early and one late) to pull away with the win in the first game of the doubleheader.
Starter Kyle Kubat ran into some trouble in the first inning, when Richie Martin led off with a double against him. Then, with two outs, Tyler Nevin drove in the first run of the game with a double of his own. Kubat also allowed two doubles in his third and final inning on the mound. The last one was hit by former No. 1 overall pick Adley Rutschman. Despite all those doubles, however, the Knights led when Kubat left the game.
