Charlotte simply has not impressed this early season, and just like last night, both the offense and pitching shut down in Saturday’s 7-3 loss. It was a game that appeared closer than it was, frankly.
In a rare effort for a first season start, Matt Tomshaw pitched into the sixth inning.
After loading the bases with no outs, Tomshaw got two ground balls, one of which could've been called a DP but a run scored. Tomshaw bounced back though, as he got this DP on the next batter to get out of the inning.
