Talking to Buddy Bell on the South Side Sox podcast last month, he told us about the somewhat unusual time-share arrangement at the top of the order. In order to get Tim Anderson and Jacob May accustomed to the leadoff role, they would alternate batting first every two weeks or so, with the other player hitting second.
A month into their first stints at Double-A, both are handling the task well in terms of their overall line:
- Anderson: .309/.320/.381, 3 2B, 2 3B, 0 HR, 1 BB, 19 K, 11/15 SB
- May: .
