Thanks to a no good very bad inning, the Knights could not get the win.
Of course the loss was not only Matt Tomshaw’s fault (although he did give up seven in the fourth inning); the hitting was not up to snuff, either. The top hitters only collected one hit in the early going, it was a Jake Burger double, while the bottom of the lineup was much better. Tim Beckham (who hit his third homer of the season) and Matt Reynolds each had multiple hits on the day. Once the game was out of reach, Blake Rutherford drove in a run with a ground-rule double.
