Scores, news and more from around the White Sox farm system
With Conor Gillaspie unable to field his position and Gordon Beckham unable to hit, there seems to be an opening for a third baseman who can do even a little bit of both.
That's where Matt Davidson comes into play. There's nothing particularly exciting about Davidson's season on the whole -- .233/.327/.403 with 13 homers and 13 doubles while playing half his games in Charlotte's hitter heaven -- but it's worth pointing out that he's probably had his best run of strike-zone control since he joined the White Sox organization.
