The Chicago White Sox are on a heater this offseason. It was clear that they needed to address some areas on the field and upgrade their pitching situation. So far, they have done that. They added Yasmani Grandal, Nomar Mazara, and Edwin Encarnacion to the starting lineup. They also added Dallas Keuchel and Gio Gonzalez to their rotation. This has the makeup of a team that can compete for a playoff spot in 2020. That should scare some of the top teams in the A.L. Central.
There seems to be some merit to the idea of the Cleveland Indians purposely getting worse to shed some payroll and retool their lineup.
