White Sox MiLB Report: Lucas Giolito Posts 2nd Consecutive Quality Start

Lucas Giolito must have gotten the memo that the Chicago White Sox need starting pitching help. The Sox seventh ranked prospect posted his second consecutive quality start for Triple-A Charlotte in the team’s 3-2 loss to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on Sunday.

Giolio pitched seven innings while allowing just three earned runs and recording two strikeouts. This was the first time this season that Giolito posted a second consecutive quality start. Giolito had been largely inconsistent this season, but he appears to have turned the corner. With his start on Sunday, Giolito lowered his ERA to 4.95.

After a disastrous start on July 20 against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Giolito’s ERA swelled to 5.
