White Sox lose to Indians for seventh straight time, deny front-office rift

As the Indians eased to their seventh straight victory over the White Sox on Tuesday night at Progressive Field, the buzz around the two teams demonstrated the different places they occupy.

With the Indians' 3-1 victory against an ineffective Sox offense, they increased their American League Central lead to six games over the Tigers as they continued toward a playoff bid. The Sox remained on course to a losing season and instead were left denying a front-office rift.

Earlier in the day, David Kaplan of WMVP-AM 1000 and Comcast SportsNet said on the his radio show that he heard from a source a source told him of a disagreement between executive vice president Ken Williams and general manager Rick Hahn about which direction the team should go at the trade deadline, with Hahn favoring a rebuild.
