Eloy Jimenez has made a habit of getting a big hit against his former organization, the Chicago Cubs.
“They checked him out, got a bigger image, they’re going to continue to treat him up and he’ll be off his feet for a few days and see if they can calm it down and then we’ll get to reevaluating it again through the weekend and then on Monday,” Sox manager Rick Renteria said Friday.
Jimenez exited Thursday’s game before the bottom of the seventh. He suffered the injury — diagnosed Friday as a midfoot sprain — while scoring a run in a 5-4 loss to the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field.
