White Sox left-hander John Danks said he had been excited about starting the home opener Friday against the Indians for a couple of weeks.
"I definitely pictured it going a lot different in my head," Danks said.
After Danks struck out the first batter he faced, his afternoon quickly spiraled out of control. He gave up three runs in the first, two in the second and another two in the fifth for a 7-1 Sox loss at U.S. Cellular Field.
"He just needs to be more consistent," Sox manager Robin Ventura said.
