White Sox hope to end slide

David Holmberg makes his third start Saturday night at Progressive Field, hoping to help the White Sox get out of their recent slump.

They're 1-6 on the road trip and have lost eight of nine heading into the second game of the Indians series, falling to a season-worst nine games under .500.

"Obviously we’re in a position right now where we’ve sputtered," manager Rick Renteria said. "Nobody is going to deny that. That’s a fact.

"But with the season as it progresses and everybody kind of gets the feeling and understanding the plusses and the minuses, even as they continue to get at times frustrated with their lack of performance, they’re learning from that, too.
