White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said right-hander Miguel Gonzalez will start Sunday at Yankee Stadium and likely will make a few starts in a row as an opportunity to seize the club's fifth-starter opening.
Hahn described the Sox's efforts to replace left-hander John Danks, whom they cut last week, as still "fluid" but said Gonzalez earned a longer look. He said he thought the club put Gonzalez in a difficult situation when they asked him to make spot starts on the road against tough Blue Jays and Rangers lineups.
"He showed himself well both times," Hahn said.
