Jose Abreu isn’t the White Sox’s only slumping slugger. Matt Davidson was out of the lineup Friday night, even though the Royals are in town.
Manager Rick Renteria said Davidson’s 10-for-63 slump trumps his success against the Royals this season.
He homered three times at Kansas City on opening day and is hitting .462/.562/1.038 with seven homers and 12 RBIs in seven games against the Royals this season.
“I can’t (focus on) the success against a particular club,’’ said Renteria, who put outfielder Ryan LaMarre into the lineup.
