The White Sox selected Missouri State third baseman Jake Burger at No. 11 overall Monday on the opening night of the first-year player draft.
Burger hit .349 with 21 home runs and 72 RBIs in his sophomore season at Missouri State, when he was named a Collegiate Baseball Louisville Slugger second-team All-American. He was also a ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove award winner.
He was hitting .328 with 22 homers and 65 RBIs in his junior season for Missouri State, which lost to TCU in the NCAA Super Regional on Sunday.
The Sox will also make the 49th overall pick in the second round Monday night.
