The White Sox opened the third and final day of the first-year player draft Wednesday by selecting Chicago-area right-hander Will Kincanon in the 11th round.
Kincanon, a Riverside-Brookfield graduate, played two seasons at Triton Junior College before pitching at Indiana State his junior year. He posted a 5.24 ERA, 35 walks and 93 strikeouts over 79 innings pitched this year.
Sandburg and Illinois-Chicago second baseman David Cronin was a 20th-round pick.
The Sox also went for some celebrity sons in the late rounds, when players with personal connections to the clubs are often selected.
