The White Sox claimed left-handed reliever Giovanni Soto off waivers from the Athletics on Monday.
Soto, 25, owns a 3.29 ERA and a .235 opponents average over eight minor-league seasons. He spent 2016 with the Cubs’ Triple-A team, going 1-3 with a 5.14 ERA and 55 strikeouts over 33 appearances. The A’s had claimed him off waivers on Oct. 26.
He has also been a member of the Tigers and Indians organizations. He made six major-league appearances with the Indians in September 2015, throwing 3 1/3 scoreless innings.
