The Chicago White Sox added to their outfielder pool Thursday by claiming Daniel Fields off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers and adding him to the 40-man roster.
Fields, 24, is a six-year minor leaguer, who played in one game in the major leagues for the Detroit Tigers this past season, getting a hit in three at-bats. He is a former sixth-round draft pick by the Tigers. Since Sept. 10, he has been claimed by the Milwaukee Brewers, Dodgers and now the White Sox.
