White Sox choose Andrew Vaughn with No. 3 pick, add power bat to rebuild

The White Sox just injected a big dose of power into their rebuilding effort.

Andrew Vaughn is the newest star of the rebuild after the White Sox used the No. 3 pick on the power-hitting Cal first baseman Monday night.

Vaughn swings a mean stick, evident from the 50 home runs he hit in three seasons with the Golden Bears. He smashed 16 of those this season, which he finished with a .385/.539/.728 slash line. His sophomore-year numbers were even better. He won the Golden Spikes Award (given to the best player in college baseball) in 2018 thanks to 23 homers, 63 RBIs and a .
