An ongoing observation on the White Sox beat this year is the decreasing frequency of updates on the condition of injured outfielder Charlie Tilson. Back in February, Tilson suffered a stress reaction in his right foot. It was immediately seen as a compensatory issue brought on from his attempts to rehab his left hamstring tear, suffered in his major league debut last August, and thus carried the potential for a lot of recurrences. But it was nevertheless labeled as a “minor setback” at the time.
“It’s a minor thing, and it will give my other leg a chance to get stronger in the meantime, and hopefully we’ll turn this negative into a positive,” Tilson said four-plus months ago.
